Pennyminder is pleased to announce today the launch of Cashbook, our hosted PFM for banks and credit unions.  Cashbook features a modern HTML5 interface that's mobile and tablet ready, and a real-time interface to the core banking system. These are competitive features that your users and members will expect and appreciate.

Pennyminder Cashbook is incredibly easy to implement, and offers best-of-breed customer data security methodology. With an extremely attractive cost-of-entry starting at just $299 per month, it's never been easier to implement PFM and other personal finance applications in the future for your organization.

Easy Implementation

Implementing Cashbook only requires two things: an authentication service, and a transaction delivery service. Pennyminder has open-sourced it's juno authentication service. We're currently working on open-sourcing the transaction delivery side as well. All that a financial institution needs to provide is some specific code to integrate with their back-end. Typically, this can be done in a few weeks.

Safe and Secure

Cashbook's Juno authentication service utilizes the OAuth2.0 protocol, which assures that the user's login credentials never leave the control of the financial institution.

But customer safety and security don't stop there. With Cashbook, your user's personally-identifiable information is never sent to Cashbook -not even customer account numbers. Cashbook only uses a unique indentifier for the user, and transaction details such as amount,
description and date.

More than just PFM

Best of all, when you choose Cashbook your implementation investment pays dividends by giving your institution a platform on which to build and deploy your own mobile and web-based applications. That allows you to customize and develop specialized services that keep your clients coming back.

We're extremely excited by the capabilities and long-term potential of Cashbook. Visit our homepage to learn more about Cashbook.

Has it really been 10 months since our last post?  While we expected to have news long before now, we have been busy.

First, an announcement. We have decided to move away from consumer facing applications.  We will instead be focused on offering innovative personal finance applications through banks and credit unions.

We will be launching our first product for banks and credit unions this coming Monday (January 30th), but the new web site is already up and running.

Tue, 08 Mar 2011 10:00:00 -0800 ... It's got a heartbeat.... I think it's going to live http://blog.pennyminder.com/-its-got-a-heartbeat-i-think-its-going-to-liv http://blog.pennyminder.com/-its-got-a-heartbeat-i-think-its-going-to-liv

Welcome to the new Pennyminder blog. I know it's been kind of quiet around here for a while (let's just say that blogging on a regular basis is not my strong suit and leave it at that) but I've been busy over the past couple of years so I want to make a fresh start.

Pennyminder has always been about more than just an expense tracker. It's about helping families (like yours and mine) enjoy full and rewarding lives while spending less money.  In other words, it's about giving us the information we need to make smarter choices about how and what we spend our money on.

Pennyminder is growing to becoming a suite of products to help make those choices.  We currently have two products:

And we are launching a third called Pennyminder Cashbook very soon that I think you're going to really like.  We have more ideas for new products and features for the future too, so stay tuned! Thanks for reading.
